Last week, I was invited to lead a pleasure activation / workshop during the Sex Kiki Afrofuturistic Play Party. a Sex Kiki is a “sex-positive multimedia sanctuary activating erotic arts, culture and education.” They are a “cummunity (that) centers and uplifts the voices of Black queer womxn and femmes.” The founder (Coriama) & I have friends & creative collaborators since our first meeting at an event 6 years ago! (#Blessings!) So, when they asked me to show up, of course, the answer was an enthusiastic YES! I got to share a lot about the Embodied Sensual Rituals grounding truths and we focused on the topic of “The Spirituality of Subbing: Practicing Vulnerability through Kink.”
About the Workshop | Description
“ Find refuge in the slow magic of unraveling, savoring, and surrendering. Embrace the spiritual in / as the sexual. Embrace the sexual in / as the spiritual. It feels really good to let go! Engaging 'subbing' as a spiritual practice - outside of a fixed "role" or identity - brings us to a space between the worlds of kink, erotica, and ritual. Participants in this activation will explore this through sensual self-touch, guided partner & mirroring exercises, and playful erotic meditations. Together, we'll charge the energy of the room towards sweet surrendering.”
